Emmeran P. Hennes
Emmeran P. Hennes of Rubicon passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at his residence. He was 96 years old.
He was born Sept. 22, 1910 in Rozellville to Joseph and Julia (nee Beyel) Hennes. He married Beatrice Dworschack and she preceded him in death in 1964. He then married Dorothy Winkler and she preceded him in 1976. Emmeran then married Marion Swanke on Sept. 13, 1980 at St. John Church in Rubicon.
Emmeran was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Rubicon since 1943. He was devoted to his faith and prayed the rosary daily for 16 years.
He farmed most of his life until 1964. He also worked for Dairy Cool and then Chrysler Co. until his retirement. He loved woodworking, carpentry, gardening and enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; four children, James (Catherine) Hennes of Neosho, Donna (Philip) Thoma of Plainfield, Judith (Richard) Truett of Lake Barrington, Ill., and Therese (Jeffery) Miller of Rubicon; 15 grandchildren, John (Elizabeth) Hennes, Elizabeth (Steven) Braunschweig, Paul Hennes, Mark (Kerry) Hennes, Rita (Duane) Olbinski, David Hennes, Philip (Patricia) Thoma, Donald (Celeste) Thoma, Karen (Mark) Burns, Sharon (Jeffery) Griffith, Paul (Michelle) Thoma, Patricia Truett, Kimberly (Bob) Anderson, Alan Miller, and Constance (Ryan) Kurth; 27 great-grandchildren; four sisters and brothers, Agnes Kaiser of Marshfield, Junilla (Andy) Geiger of Florida, Alvera (William) Kann of Wisconsin Rapids, and Wilfred (Gayle) Hennes of Unity; two sisters-in-law, Helen Hennes of California and Loretta Hennes of Marshfield; and one brother-in-law, Arnold Steines of Marshfield.
He is further survived by step-children, great step-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Beatrice Dworschack and Dorothy Winkler; one son, John Hennes; five sisters, Thecla Kaiser, Marie Merkes Kaiser, Hilaria Schneider Cummings, Bernadine Steines, Rita Hebert; three brothers, Walter (Rose), Theodore, Sylvester Hennes; and one brother-in-law, Myron Kaiser.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Dec. 15, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Rubicon, with Fr. Alois Van Beek officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends prior to the Mass from 9-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Rubicon.
