Philip Eugene Price
A memorial service will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh at 11:30 a.m. Friday for Philip Eugene Price of Oshkosh. Phil passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 surrounded by his family, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Friends and family may gather at the church on Friday for a time of support from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Phil was born in Oshkosh on April 14, 1923, son of George and Alice (nee Taylor) Prickett. He attended St. Peter High School and later graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He very much enjoyed teaching high school and coaching basketball early in his career.
On April 14, 1956, he married Jo Anne Anderson of Holland, Mich. Phil and Jo lived in Thiensville and Cedarburg for over 30 years.
Phil enjoyed a successful career in professional fund raising for both religious and secular institutions until his retirement in 1988. He was an avid golfer and tennis player and an ardent fan of Notre Dame football and basketball.
Phil is survived by his wife of 50 years Jo Anne; his sons Peter (Ann) Prickett of Oshkosh, Paul (Laura) Prickett of Franklin and John (Tricia) Price of Mequon; and his daughters Karen (Roby) Onan of Grafton and Teresa (David) Kievet of Stevens Point. Phil truly enjoyed the company of his grandchildren Laura (Chris) Anderson, Amy Prickett, Sondra and Bridget Sundquist, Alex and Annika Prickett, Alyssa, Zachary and Rebecca Onan, Morgan and Sam Schroeder, and Amanda and Hunter Kievet; and his great-grandchildren Michael Anderson and Westen Schaff.
Phil is further survived by his sisters Ann Nipko, Arietta Prickett and Sister Alisa Prickett; brothers Henry (Helen) Prickett and Joseph Prichett; sisters-in-law Mary Kelly, Ruth (Joe) Plocharzyk, Donna Anderson; brother-in-law Donald (Helen) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Affinity Hospice in Neenah, the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse in New Holstein or the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Sinsinawa.
