Marianne T. Christian
Marianne T. Christian, 82, of the town of Theresa, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born May 4, 1924 in the town of Herman, the daughter of Richard and Martha (Wegner) Justmann.
She married Gerhardt Chris-tian on Sept. 3, 1943 at Hochheim Lutheran Church in the town of Herman.
Marianne will be deeply missed by her husband of 63 years, Gerhardt, and by her six children: Diane (Jerry) Boehm of Saginaw, Mich., Lois (Martin) Knoll of West Bend, Paul Christian of Theresa, Elaine (Gary) Hanson of Oshkosh, Richard (Gail) Christian of Theresa and Neil (Julie) Christian of Menomonee Falls. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Diana, Jodi, Ricky, David, J.J., Lisa, Joel, Brian, John, Mindy, Anne, Angela, Rachel and Daniel; four great grandchildren; Jade, Lindsey, Caleb and Kelsi. She is further survived by three sisters, Madlin Finke of Plymouth, Margaret Rohde of West Bend and Naomi (Howard) Kriewald of Iron Ridge; one brother, Andrae (Jenni) Justmann of Waupaca; and by nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Justmann.
Marianne was a devoted wife and mother, homemaker and family nurturer. She loved her work in her church, especially in Immanuel Ladies Aid, of which she was a charter member. She is fondly remembered for her quilting for missions, volunteer work for Bethesda and was also a long-time member of the church choir. She greatly enjoyed working with the Lutheran Laymenís League and ministry to shut-ins.
A funeral service of praise in honor of Marianne will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church), N8092 County Trunk AY, Mayville with Rev. Mark Berlin officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, Dec. 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Lutheran Hour Ministries.
The family sincerely thanks Trosten Haus in Beaver Dam, Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira and especially her care-giver, Bonnie Schultz, for the loving care shown to Marianne over the past years.
