Myrtle G. Schmidt
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and also at noon tomorrow at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda for Myrtle G. Schmidt of Cedarburg. Myrtle passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006. Visitation will be held today at Immanuel Lutheran Church from noon until 2 p.m, prior to the funeral service. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda from 10 a.m. until noon. Interment will take place at Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tilleda.
Myrtle Schmidt was born in Shawano County on April 5, 1922, daughter of Edward and Hulda (nee Kraft) Schmidt. She was the eldest grandchild of Otto and Regina Kraft. Myrtle graduated from Gresham High School and shortly thereafter moved to the Milwaukee and Cedarburg areas where she made her life. Myrtle was a devoted member of both Immanuel Lutheran Church and Peace Lutheran Church.
Myrtle is survived by Pearl Weidmann, her close friend and roommate of 40 years; her sisters Ruth Riggle, Gertrude (Arnold) Dalke and Edythe (John) Smith. She is further survived by nine nieces and nephews who were never far from her heart: Gail (John) Keller, Michael (Connie) Riggle, Steven (Joy) Dalke, Gary (Cindy) Dalke, Lynn (David) Derfelt, Mark (Jill) Riggle, Scott Smith, David (Kari) Riggle and Jennifer (Brad) Stallsmith.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Dorothy Maufort; and her brothers-in-law Francis Maufort and Irv Riggle.
You were a very special aunt, sister and friend to many - we will miss you, Aunt Mert!
