Donald J. Nowak
Donald J. Nowak, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, town of West Bend.
He was born on April 4, 1923 in Milwaukee to the late Charles and Bertha (nee Riekowski) Nowak.
Donald served his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Navy.
Upon his return from the service, Donald attended the Univer-sity of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a degree as a mechanical engineer.
Following his graduation, he began a career working for Allis Chalmers of Milwaukee, and later for the Falk Corp. of Milwaukee.
Donald was a member of the Milwaukee Ski Club and the Wisconsin Go Hiking Club.
In his free time he enjoyed woodworking projects.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Walburga "Dot;" his cherished daughter, Margaret (James) Knepper of Melbourne, Fla.; his dear sister, Shirley Lemanczyk of Milwaukee; and other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 4 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. Seventh Ave., West Bend, with Father Jeffrey Haines as the celebrant.
A visitation will follow the Mass in the lower level of the church.
