Gertrude E. Fellenz

Gertrude E. Fellenz, nee Geidel, 91, of West Bend, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born on July 10, 1915 on the family homestead farm in Fillmore to the late Edwin and Bertha (nee Bach) Geidel, and attended the single room schoolhouse in Fillmore.

On Oct. 13, 1934 Gertrude was united in marriage to Sylvester Fellenz in the parsonage of St. Michaelís.

Together they farmed on the Fellenz homestead farm in St. Michaels until moving to Kewaskum in 1951.

Gertrude then started working at the West Bend Co., where she worked for 27 years.

In 1972 they moved to West Bend, and Sylvester preceded her in death in 1974.

Gertrude was a lifelong member of St. Martinís United Church of Christ in Fillmore, and was a member of the West Bend Co. 25 Year Club.

Gertrude enjoyed gardening and playing the accordion.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Irma Geidel of Loveland, Colo.; a nephew, Rich (Carol) Geidel of West Bend; four nieces, Ruth (Gary) Doss of Johnstown, Colo., Rose (Jay) Beckman of Parker, Colo., Marilyn Geidel of Loveland, Colo. and Carolyn (Ken) Jones of Manhattan, Kan.; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Geidel.

Funeral services for Gertrude will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 3 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Vernon Clausing of St. Martinís UCC will officiate, and burial will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 2. at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
