Hilda Mae Milligan

Hilda Mae Milligan, 92, of Ke-nosha, died on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at her home.

Born on June 12, 1914 in Stevens Point, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mary Ann (Marx) Barrows.

She attended Ke-nosha schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.

On Jan. 25, 1933 Hilda married her beloved Lyle F. Milligan. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2001.

Hilda was a proud homemaker and took great care in making ordinary things special.

She belonged to a card club for over 60 years, enjoying the game and the company of her cardmates.

She was a master at crossword puzzles and insisted on using a pen since her accuracy was phenomenal.

When not caring for her home and family, Hilda found great pleasure in the art of needlework and crocheting; and packed into her tiny frame was a huge sports fan. She adored cheering on her favorite teams: the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

She leaves a legacy of family to remember her: four sons, Gary (Jeanine) Milligan, of West Bend, Greg (Sandy) Milligan, Scott (Delores) Milligan and Rory (Jennifer) Milligan, all of Keno-sha; 10 grandchildren, Kevin F. and Brian A. (Connie) Milligan, Wendy M. (Robert) Leon, Mary K. Massingale, Shawn M. and Robin A. Milligan, Neil S. Milligan, Kelly J. (Don) Kauffman, Ashley R. Johnston and Emily M. Milligan; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by two sons, Neil and Michael in infancy; three brothers, Eugene and Raymond Vaughn and Lester Barrows; and a sister, Irma Karabetsos.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home in Kenosha.

Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that indivivuals consider memorial remembrances in Hilda’s name to The American Cancer Society.
