Violet Rodenkirch, 83, residing in Johnson City, Tenn., entered into eternal life on Friday, Dec. 22 at the Appalachian Christian Village.
Violet was born on Jan. 13, 1923 in Ladysmith, to Otto and Olga Austin.
She married Richard Roden-kirch on Aug. 12, 1944 and dedicated her life to her family as a wife and mother.
Violet is survived by her children, James (Shari) Rodenkirch of Palmyra, Raymond (Florence) Rodenkirch of Pulaski, Suze Anne (John) Krebs of Hartford and Pamela (James) Roethle of Johnson City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, William Tock; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Austin.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents Otto and Olga Austin; her son, Ricky; a sister, Dolores Tock; a brother, Thomas Austin; and a grandson, Kevin Krebs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michaels, with Father Edward Kornath officiating.
Family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.
Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.
