Helena Abramov, nee Crepajac, 87, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
Helena was born in Novi Sod, Yugoslavia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander "Alex" Abramov, on Oct. 22, 2002, and her first husband, Vladimir Filipov.
Helena worked for over 40 years for the Amity Leather Co. and was also owner/operator of a cab company and answering service with her husband, Alex.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalia Ward; her grandson, Christopher Ward and his fiancˇe, Joyce; her great-granddaughter, Kaitlin; her grandson, Philip (Denise) Ward, and her granddaughter, Victoria Saville; a brother, Luba (Lilika) Crepajac of Belgrade, Yugoslavia; her former granddaughters-in-law, Julie Mc-Allister and Betty Ward, and many other close friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Olga; three great-grandchildren, Amber, Jas-per and Dougie; her son-in-law, Bobby Ward; grandson-in-law, Danny Saville, and a brother, George.
Helena loved to cook and was devoted to her family who brought great joy to her life.
She was multi-lingual, and spoke Hungarian, Russian, Serbian, French and German.
Their family enjoyed keeping their boat at Boettcher’s Resort on Big Cedar Lake, where they had many happy summers.
A gathering for family and friends, as a celebration of Helena’s life, will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the family’s home, 145 Edgewood Lane, West Bend.
A service remembering Helena’s life will take place at 2 p.m., with continued gathering until 5 p.m.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family .
