Conrad F. Haas
Conrad F. Haas, 80, of Elroy, died on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006 at the Meriter Hospital in Madison.
He was born Feb. 16, 1925 in Hillsboro to William and Doris (nee Mayenshien) Haas.
He had lived in Hillsboro, Milwaukee, Jackson, West Bend and in Elroy since 1986.
Conrad worked for the Milwaukee Road as a locomotive engineer.
He loved woodworking, hunting, gardening and fishing, and he also assisted on the Elroy Museum and the Millards Prairie Church refurbishing.
Conrad served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of S/Sgt. Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post 486 in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Nofsinger Miller, who he married April 16, 1974 in West Bend; three sons, Mike (Paula) Riebe of West Bend, Jim Riebe of Hillsboro and Pat (Kris) Riebe of Kendall; three stepdaughters, Jennifer (Bruce McPhee) Miller of Chicago, Sheryl (David) Brethorst of Lodi and Lynette (Tom) Reisenauer of Mauston; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard (Sally) Haas of Hillsboro.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Elaine, in 1972; a sister, Margie Bostwick; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Elroy United Methodist Church.
Rev. Steve Ward will officiate, and burial will follow in Wiscon-sin Memorial Park, Milwaukee.
Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, 1600 Academy St., Elroy, on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m.
