Dorothy M. Brandenburg
Dorothy M. Brandenburg (nee Kippenhan) of Slinger entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 at Hartford Care Center, at the age of 96 years.
Dorothy was born May 21, 1909 to John and Mathilda (nee Tolzmann) Kippenhan in Slinger, where she was also raised. She graduated from Slinger High School with the class of 1926. Dorothy went on to further her education at the Wisconsin Commercial Academy, obtaining her certificate in stenography. She married her soul mate and best friend, Albert P. Brandenburg, on April 30, 1934 in Slinger. After marriage, the couple remained in Slinger. Dorothy loved antiquing and spending time decorating her home. She was blessed with the gift of being creative and crafty, and loved making quilts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and braiding rugs.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her many very dear and close friends, and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and life-companion, Albert, on Feb. 13, 1991.
A funeral service to honor the full life of Dorothy was Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in Slinger, with Pastor John Tschudy officiating. Interment took place at Union Cemetery in Slinger. Visitation was Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 prior to the service. Appreciation is extended for memorials that are donated, in lieu of flowers, to the Hartford Memorial Hospital Life Line.
