Robert "Bob" A. Mueller
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Feb. 6 at St. Maryís Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend for Robert "Bob" A. Mueller of West Bend, who died on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at Cedar Community Hospice in West Bend at the age of 85. The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Michael Moran. Visitation was held on Feb. 5 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend. The burial took place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, following the funeral service.
Bob was born on July 19, 1920 in Mequon, to the late Otto J. and Ella (nee Hadler) Mueller. While he was still a young child, his family moved to Milwaukee. After graduating from high school, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War ll as a first class machinist mate. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Milwaukee. Bob# was united in marriage to Agnes F. Graczyk on Sept. 18, 1948.
Bob owned and operated Bobís Tavern on 35th Street and Silver Spring Avenue, and retired during the mid-1970s. Besides spending his summers with family in Minnesota, Bob also enjoyed huntlng, fishing, bowling and golfing. He was a member of the Howard J. Schroeder Post 457 American Legion in Mequon, the Gross-Yaksh Post 6498 VFW in Milwaukee, and was an active lifetime member and past president of the North Milwaukee Lions Club.
Bob is survived by his wife Agnes; children Carol Schmidt of West Bend, Carl (Jackie) of Lincolnton, N.C., Bob (Vicky) of Milwaukee and Kay (Bernie) Prepodnik of Germantown; brother Ardell Mueller of Milwaukee; and sister-in-law Alice Graczyk of Waukesha.
Bob is further survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family has requested memorials to the Cedar Community Foundation for the benefit of the hospice program and Cedar Bay West.
