Funeral services were held on Feb. 8 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Mequon for Harold Hahm, longtime resident of Mequon, who went to the Lord on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at the age of 86. The burial was held privately in Milwaukee. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mequon assisted the family with the arrangements.
Harold lived for over 80 years on West County Line Road in Mequon. He was a lifelong vegetable grower, first with his father and then later with his son. Harold’s daughters and grandchildren also helped work the farm, where he was lovingly referred to as the "Cabbage King." Harold was a volunteer fireman for 25 years in Mequon and had continued supporting the department for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, luxury automobiles and following Brewers baseball.
Harold is survived by his son Gordon (Eldona) Hahm; his daughters Bonnie (Raymond) Weber, Diane (Daniel) Bonin and Dawn (Roy Carlson) Hahm; his grandchildren Eric (Carole), Mark and Julie Hahm, Trevor Weber, Jann (Troy) Pfaff, Aaron (Jennifer) and Danae Weber and Christopher and Timothy Bonin; his great-grandchildren Katie, Aimee, August, Dalton, Ashley and Cody. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife Virginia, in 1992.
A very special "thank you" is extended by the family to the staff at Cedar Springs and Cedar Gardens for their loving and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Mequon or the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
