Richard Isaac LeMahieu

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 18 at Trinity Community Church, 9450 N. 60th St., Brown Deer, for Richard Isaac LeMahieu of Cedarburg (formerly of Oostburg), who passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Columbia St. Maryís Hospital in Mequon at the age of 63. The Rev. Paul Wernlund, pastor of Trinity Community Church, will officiate the funeral service. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Saturday at Trinity Community Church, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery in Sheboygan County.

Richard was born on Dec. 21, 1942 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Edwin and Sarah (nee Oppeneer) LeMahieu. In 1961, he graduated from Oostburg High School. Richard attended UW-Milwaukee from 1961 to 1968 and earned a master of science degree in education. On Aug. 26, 1966 he married Lorraine Lammers in Gibbsville.

Richard taught chemistry at UW-Milwaukee from 1966-67 and at Nicolet High School from 1967-74. From 1974 until his retirement in 1999, he was a chemistry teacher at Grafton High School.

Richard was an active member of Trinity Community Church in Brown Deer for 39 years. He served as an elder and treasurer and taught at the School of Christian Living.

Richard is survived by his wife Lorraine; sons Keith (Jean) LeMahieu of Pound and Paul LeMahieu of Pasadena, Calif.; grandsons Tyler and Zachary LeMahieu; brother Wayne (Phyllis) LeMahieu of Sheboygan Falls; and brothers-in-law Wayne (Karen) Lammers of Oostburg and John (Carol) Lammers of Oostburg.

Richard is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
