Margaret H. Braun

Margaret H. Braun, nee Grace, 85, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.

She was born April 19, 1920 in Hartford to Edward and Permelia (nee Tower) Grace, and married Donald Braun on Nov. 16, 1945 in Hartford.

Margaret was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and its Missions Society for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Margaret worked at the Hartford Savings Bank for 47 years, retiring in 1987. She still continued to be active in the bank as a member of its board of directors.

She received the Wisconsin Bankers Association award for 50 years of service.

Margaret enjoyed a good conversation and never met a person she couldn’t talk with. She had a pleasant spirit and a great sense of humor.

Margaret enjoyed reading and watching some TV.

Survivors include her son, Ken (Linda) Braun of Hartford and her daughter, Barb, also of Hartford; two grandchildren, Kyle (Teri) and Darci (fiancˇ Jim Boettcher); and a great grandchild, Delaney.

She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and a sister, Betty and her husband Clarence "Clutz" Wenzel.

Funeral services for Margaret will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1000 Center St., Hartford, with Pastor David Wietzke officiating.

Margaret’s family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, and also from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
