Robert J. Maher
Robert J. Maher of Hartford passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at his residence. He was 86 years old.
He was born Feb. 5, 1920 in Hartford to Stephen and Anna (nee Sharkey) Maher. He married Ruth Janquart in West Bend.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He spent his entire working life on the farm.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ruth: five sons, Patrick (Rene) Hart of Hartford, Robert (Joyce) Hart of Medford, James of Hartford, John Maher (special friend Cindy Neu) of Iron Ridge and Thomas Maher of Hartford; his daughter, Sally (Allan) Maas of Hartford; seven grandchildren, Brian (Kristin), Lisa, Joanne, Shawn (Fritz), Kelly (Walt), Doug and Joshua; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Francis (Mary) of Des Plains, Ill. and Harvey (Shirley) of Fort Meyers, Fla.; and his sister, Eleanore Stangler of Poynette. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ruth Ann; a grandchild, Julie; a great-granddaughter, Lee Christine; four sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, Mary and Marcella; and three brothers, Stephen, Roy and Eugene.
Funeral services for Robert were Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, with Father Mike Tess officiating.
Family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the funeral home.
