Jane O. Lofte

Jane O. Lofte, nee Organ, 93, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

Jane was born May 7, 1912 to Clarence and Eva (nee Toms) Organ in Springfield, Ohio, where she was also raised.

She graduated from the Springfield City Hospital School of Nursing in 1934.

On Oct. 7, 1939, she married the love of her life and best friend, John A. Lofte in Springfield.

Jane enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, needlecrafts, and, most of all, playing the organ.

She was a member of the Waukesha Practical Club and the Eastern Star.

Among her favorite pastimes, she loved dedicating her time, love and energy to her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jane will be deeply missed and forever loved by her children, John Jr. "Jack" (special friend Miriam) Lofte of Milwaukee and Julie (Richard) Tennie of Oakfield; her son-in-law, Norman (Marge) Jefferson of Birmingham, Ala.; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Stephanie (Rick) Borkin of Theinsville, Kristina (Michael) Granahan of Trevor, Erik (fiancˇe Kim) Jefferson of Sacramento, Calif., Michael (Heidi) Jefferson of Chicago, Peter (special friend Cathy) Jefferson of Chicago and Kelly Tennie of Oakfield; six great-grandchildren, Brienne, Annalie and William Davis, Sam Borkin, and Madeline and Baby Granahan; and a sister, Helen Rader of Dayton, Ohio.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Eva Organ; her husband, John A. Lofte, on Jan. 27, 1993; a daughter, J’Ann Jefferson; two grandsons, Joseph and John Tennie; and a brother-in-law, Russ Rader.

A funeral aervice to honor Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for memorials that are offered to Children’s Hospital, 9000 W. Wisconsin Ave., Wauwatosa, Wis. 53226, or the Neonatal Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 5000 W. Chambers St., Milwaukee, Wis. 53210, in lieu of flowers.


The family would also like to offer their sincere gratitude to the nurses and volunteers at Cedar Community and Cedar Communi-ty Hospice.
