Dolores E. TerMaat
Dolores E. TerMaat, 82, formerly of Plymouth, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2006, surrounded by her loving children at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where she had been a resident for the past one and a half years.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1923, in Sheboygan Falls, a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Lorraine (nee Bruder) Richards.
She attended Kohler Grade School and graduated in 1940 from Kohler High School.
She worked at Kohler Co. for two years.
On Nov. 22, 1941, she married Harvey TerMaat in Cedar Grove. The couple lived in Cedar Grove after their marriage and moved to Plymouth.
She worked at Pick’s Manufacturing in West Bend and was also employed at Amity Leather in West Bend, retiring after 20 years of service.
She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 193 in Batavia where she resided for many years.
Dolores enjoyed needle work, crocheting, sewing and bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Sandy (Roger) Berg of Florida, Shari (Robert) Arndt of Random Lake, Penny (Walter) Zimmerman of West Bend, Richard (Kay) TerMaat of Plymouth and Debra (William) Zimmerman of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bev (Fred) Cornils of Kiel.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her stepfather, Hank Rademacher; a brother, Vernon; a stepbrother, Max Rademacher and a granddaughter, Nicole.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth.
Pastor William Rishel will officiate, and burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
A memorial is being established in her name.
