Rita L. Bauer
Rita L. Bauer, nee Weyer, 78, of West Bend, died on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006 at the Samaritan health Center.
She was born April 24, 1927 in Lomira to the late Andrew J. and Rosalind B (nee Czoschke) Weyer.
Following her marriage to Clement J. Bauer on Sept. 6, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira, the couple settled in West Bend.
Clem passed away on Dec. 20, 1999.
For a brief period she worked part time at the Sentry Food Store and J.C. Penney. She then became employed full time in the credit department at Sears, where she worked for many years.
Rita was a charter member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend.
Survivors include three children, Margaret (Robert) Trester of Slinger, Thomas (Pamela) of Campbellsport and Donald (Lynda) of West Bend; three grandchildren, Matthew Bauer, Catherine Trester and Robert Trester; a step-granddaughter, Barbara (Thomas) Cook; two step-great-grandchildren, Thomas III and James Cook; a brother, John (Carolyn) Weyer of Brownsville; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Alice) Bauer of Lomira; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bauer of Lomira, Annela (Eugene) Wagner of West Bend and Sylvia (Franklin) Gremminger of Mayville; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Joseph R. in 1947; a brother, Roland (Gloria) Weyer; a brother-in-law, Jerome Bauer and her parents-in-law, Alois and Ottillia Bauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. Seventh Ave., West Bend.
Father Jeff Haines will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be on Saturday from 9 until 10:15 a.m.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
