Charles W. McClarran

Charles W. McClarran, 86, of West Bend passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1919 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Harry and Grace (nee Marchand) McClarran.

Charlie was raised in Wooster and graduated from Wooster College.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was stationed in England during World War II with the 801st/492nd Bomb Group Special Operations Carpet Baggers.

On Oct. 19, 1942, he was united in marriage to Doris Schulz in Fresno, Calif.

He was employed as a sales director for Regal Ware, retiring after 30 years with the company.

Following his retirement, Charlie and Doris wintered in Punta Gorda, Fla, living at Burnt Store Marina for many years.

Doris passed away Dec. 18, 1988.

Charlie was an avid golfer with four holes-in-one to his credit and was a long-standing member of the West Bend Country Club.

He was also an avid fisherman and Ohio State football fan.

Survivors include three children, Larry (Bernadine) Mc-Clarran of West Bend, Bill (Louise) McClarran of Campbell-sport and Penny (Jim) Neis of Eagle River; three grandchildren, Debra (special friend Scott Liebmann) McClarran of West Bend, Jason (Laura) Simac and Greg (Sara) Simac; two great-grandchildren, Riley McClarran and Sophia Simac; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and George.

A visitation to celebrate Charlie’s life will he held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washing-ton St., West Bend.

Burial will follow in Washing-ton County Memorial Park, West Bend.
