Gertrude A. Wiskirchen

Gertrude A. Wiskirchen (nee Bunke), 91, of West Bend was graciously welcomed into her Lordís home on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born May 6, 1914 in Dorchester, where she was also raised.

Once she finished school, Gertrude moved to the West Bend area and dedicated her time and energy at the Carl Pick Farm as a housekeeper and later worked at the Pick factory.

On May 5, 1934, Gertrude married the love of her life and her best friend, Arthur J. Wiskirchen, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.

Together, the couple operated Sealtest Dairy Distributors from 1947 until 1972.

Gertrude loved cooking, and most of all caring for and spending quality time with her family.

She will be forever remembered by her treasured son, Charles, and his wife, Cynthia Wiskirchen of West Bend; her six dear grandchildren, Sandra (Lee) Stehling and Randal (Penni) Wiskirchen, both of West Bend, Mark (Mercedes) Wiskirchen of Kewaskum, Diane (David) Bartley of West Bend, Steven (Amy) Wiskirchen of Kewaskum and Keith (Jennifer) Wiskirchen of Cascade; 13 cherished great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Arthur, on March 11, 2001; a sister, and two brothers.

A funeral service to honor the life of Gertrude was held on Monday, Jan. 9, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.

Father Gerald Brittain officiated, and interment will take place in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend.

The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation for the wonderful care Gertrude received from Dr. Mosley and all the staff at the Samaritan Health Center.
