Roma E. Wedig

His twinkling eyes are now two more stars and his friendly smile a ray of sun to warm our hearts ... where he’ll reside forever!

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Lasata Care Center Chapel in Cedarburg for Roma E. Wedig, who peacefully passed away at the Lasata Care Center on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 at the age of 94. The Rev. Charles Turbin will officiate the funeral service. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (prior to the service on Saturday) at the chapel. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

Roma E. Mielke was born on Aug. 12, 1911 in Cedarburg, to William and Frieda (nee Klueber) Mielke. On July 6, 1938 she married Edmund Wedig at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Roma was a lifelong active member at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was also a member of the Quilters Group at the church.

For over 13 years, Roma served as a volunteer at Lasata. She later moved to Lasata Heights where she lived for 13 years. For the past 5 years before her passing, Roma resided at the Lasata Care Center.

Roma is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roma was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Wedig; parents William and Frieda Mielke; brother and sister-in-law Clifford (Ruth) Mielke; and niece Beverly Mielke.
