Angela Burchard DeWitt

Angela Burchard DeWitt, nee Stamm, 95, of West Bend, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at home in the loving presence of her family.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1910 in Madison to the late Peter and Mary (nee Schachte) Stamm, and was raised on her family’s farm in Adams County.

She earned a B.S. degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

After her graduation she moved back to Adams County and became a teacher.

During her 37 years of teaching, her career led her to other teaching opportunities in Wood County and Washington County. She taught at Kewaskum Elementary School for 17 years.

Angela loved her Lord and was a member of Emmaus Bible Church in downtown West Bend.

Survivors include her two loving children, Georgene and Gaylord DeWitt, both of West Bend; her two wonderful grandchildren, Carey and Jodi Dewitt, both of West Bend; a brother Florian (Mary) Stamm of Mt. Horeb; a sister-in-law, Margaret Stamm of Madison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

A funeral service in honor of Angela will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service of West Bend.

Rev. James Taylor will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of service.
