Norbert P. Krebs
Norbert P. Krebs, 82, of St. Lawrence passed away on Friday, Jan. 20 2006 at Cedar Community in West Bend.
He was born May 3, 1923 in St. Lawrence to Louis and Marie (nee Gundrum) Krebs, and married Margaret Walter on Oct. 8, 1949 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal.
He took over the family farm and farmed his whole life in St. Lawrence.
Norbert was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Farm Bureau and a past volunteer member of the St. Lawrence Fire Department.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, crafts and especially traveling around the country in the couple’s RV.
Survivors include Margaret, his wife of 56 years; three children, Herbert (Jackie) Krebs of Campbellsport, Thomas (Patti) Krebs of West Bend and Patrice (Gary) Knuth of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Jenny), Danielle, Brad, Becky (Matt), Tiffany (Dan), Adam (fianceŽ Jessica), Ben, Sarah, Stacy and Lisa; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Lindsey; two sisters, Bernice Krebs of Hartford and Loretta Noegel of Richfield; a brother, Harold (Gertrude) Krebs of St. Lawrence, and four sisters-in-law, Helen Krebs of West Bend, Mildred Krebs, Annette Krebs and Geraldine Krebs, all of St. Lawrence.
He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Norbert was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Daniel, Lloyd and Joseph; a sister, Beatrice (Norbert) Zangl and a brother-in-law, Jerome Noegel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Norbert will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Lawrence.
Father Joseph Dominic will officiate and interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and also on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home
