Cora M. Eiler, nee Blomgren

Cora M. Eiler, nee Blomgren, 91, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1914 in Cresco, Iowa to the late Carl and Mabel (nee Jewel) Blomgren.

Cora lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 25 years before moving to Milwaukee in 1970. She has lived in West Bend since 1999. Cora spent many years working as a sales clerk for the J.C. Penney Company.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia "Penny" (Stephen) Fest of West Bend; two grandchildren, Bradley (Jackie) Fest of Franklin, Tenn., and Michelle (Dave) Plechaty of Littleton, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Madeline, Sara, Zo‘, and Nadia; six sisters, Ella Albertson of Iowa, Florence Anderson of Iowa, Doris Blaess of Iowa, Rose Ratzlaff of Colorado, Mabel Hovden of Arizona, Lyola Hinneman of Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dawn Fest, six sisters and one brother.

A memorial service to honor Cora’s life will be held on Monday at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. 7th Ave., West Bend, with Rev. David Schoob officiating. A reception to meet with family and share memories will follow the service at church. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
