Audrey Francis Brownlee
Audrey Francis Brownlee (nee Anderson), 89, of West Bend was born to eternal life on, Monday, July 3, 2006, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 25, 1916 in Milwaukee to the late Frank Anderson and Adeline (nee Meyer) Anderson. After high school, she met Robert R. Brownlee Sr. while playing tennis and an instant connection was made. The couple was married on Jan. 31, 1936 in Milwaukee, where they resided and began a family of their own. They later moved to the Cedarburg area and then settled in Cedar Ridge in West Bend in 1989.
They devoted 53 wonderful years to each other that were filled with love and friendship. She loved playing cards and games, listening to music of all kinds and dancing, baking for the family and gardening in her backyard.
Above all, her family was her world. She adored watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and lit up when they were around her. In the wintertime, she and Robert would migrate south, like snowbirds do, to Naples, Fla. and Brownsville, Texas.
Audrey was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg and later, when the couple moved to West Bend, they became members of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
All who knew her loved and enjoyed her witty sense of humor.
Audrey will be deeply missed by her loving children, Thomas (Allison) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Robert Jr. (Donna) of Stockbridge, Mary (Ken) Larson of Jackson and Chris (Trish) of West Bend; cherished grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 14; dear sister of Florence (Robert) Teece of Denver; and sister-in-law of Dr. Ralph Brownlee of Shorewood. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
