James H. Kaumheimer
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 17 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton for James H. Kaumheimer, who passed away after a short illness on Friday, July 7, 2006. The Rev. Franz Rigert will officiate the church service which will be followed by a light lunch. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.
Jim was born on March 23, 1926 in Sheboygan. Having been raised in Sheboygan, he was a great fan of brat fries. After serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Jim attended UW-Madison where he earned a BBA and met his future wife, Melba. They were married on Sept. 10, 1949.
Jim was an avid fisherman and a member of the Wisconsin Muskie Club. He fished whenever and wherever he could, including the Milwaukee River in Grafton which had been his backyard for over 38 years. He also enjoyed woodworking, building furniture that decorated his house. Jim and his wife traveled extensively where they enjoyed meeting and talking with people throughout the world.
Jim is survived by his children Tina (Bill) Kanetzke of Menomonee Falls, David (Tereica) Kaumheimer of Selah, Wash., Eric Kaumheimer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Amy (David) Schultz of Whitefish Bay; grandchildren Andrew and Nicholas Kanetzke, Sara and Jack Schultz and Kathryn Kaumheimer; and his sister Jeanne (Dick) Whinfield. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Melba (nee McMahon) Kaumheimer.
