Donald Wisnefske, 81, of West Bend, was born to eternal rest on Sunday, July 9, 2006 with his family at his side.
He was born on May 19, 1925 in Waukesha, to Walter and Hazel Wisnefske, and on Dec. 15, 1945 he pledged his love to Violet Ziminski and they were married at St. Mary Help of Christian Church in West Allis.
They were blessed with six children: Gloria (Don) SearVogel of Ogdensburg, Marilyn (David) Kasten of West Bend, Greg (Linda) Wisnefske of Theresa, Donna Kogler, Mike (Heidi) Wisnefske and Jackie (Matt) Krewald, all of West Bend; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister, Virginia Alliet.
Donald was an ironworker of Local 8, for over 50 years.
He was an avid supporter of the Little Falls Loggers’ Baseball team.
Don enjoyed weekly trips to their farm in Manawa, where he would hunt, fish, garden and enjoy the serenity of sitting on their swing.
As Don requested, a private memorial service was held on Thursday, July 13, at the Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Don Wisnefske Memorial at Commerce State Bank, 508 Shepherds Drive, West Bend, WI 53090. A wildlife memorial will be established in his name.
