Martha "Marty" B. Polzean
Martha "Marty" B. Polzean, 443 Henry St., Fond du Lac, died at St. Agnes Hospital, Friday, July 7, 2006, following a heart attack.
Born July 22, 1932 in Fond du Lac County to Lawrence and Eleanora Foerester Ketter, Marty was married to Andrew Polzean, Jr. on Aug. 4, 1951 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in the town of Wayne.
Following their marriage, they lived in Kewaskum for several years before moving to Campbell-sport in 1955. Marty was employed at Amity Products, West Bend, for several years, prior to her 26-year employment at Regal Ware, Inc., Kewaskum. Shortly after her retirement in 1987, she and her husband moved to Fond du Lac. A member of Holy Family Parish, Marty was active in the St. Anne Society at St. Louis Church. She was also a member of the Holy Family Christian Women and the bereavement group for the parish. Marty was an avid card player; enjoyed open water fishing, playing pool and, for many years, bowled in a league. In recent years she also enjoyed the light-hearted fun of the Fond du Lac Red Hat Society and was able to experience the joys of camping.
She was the beloved mother of Douglas (Ann), Kewaskum; Perry (Mary), Campbellsport; Jo DeLio, Green Bay and Carol (Adam) Kulhanek, Mt. Calvary and a loving grandmother to Bridget and Kevin (fiancˇ Kathi) Polzean, Sarah Polzean and Nicole and Morgan Kulhanek.
She is further survived by her mother-in-law Uraelia "Rae" Kaehne, Fond du Lac; two loving sisters, Adeline "Addie" (Charles) Halfmann, Arbor Vitae, Wis. and Dolores (William) Borth, Fond du Lac; special friend, Werner Hoops and close friends, Jan Fink and Stacey Rehr, many other friends and relatives.
Preceding her in death were her husband, mother and father, three sisters, Regina, Marie Gloede, Agnes Dillinger and two brothers, Norbert and Ralph.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave., Fond du Lac.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 678 Western Ave., Fond du Lac.
Interment will be at St. Matthew Cemetery, Campbellsport, on July 12.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in her name to Holy Family Catholic Congregation.
