Jerome D. "Jerry" Thein
Jerome D. "Jerry" Thein, 73, of Theresa died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born May 5, 1933 in Milwaukee to the late Adolf and LaVerne (nee Kau) Thein.
Following high school, Jerry entered the U.S. Navy.
After his discharge, he worked for a moving company as a truck driver.
He loved to dance and many times would schedule his moving runs to other states to coincide with polka festivals in those states.
When he was home, Jerry en-joyed dancing at the Amerahn and the Lodge in Theresa.
He also loved flowers, especially roses. Jerry would often send for exotic roses and had very good luck growing them.
Survivors include his son, Donald Jerome Thein of Theresa, and two sisters, Jacqualine "Mutzie" Heindreich of Ke-wanna, Ind. and Gwen "Dolly" (Ed) Freier of West Bend.
Jerry is further survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Thein of Cascade; his stepmother, Char-lotte Thein of Kewaskum; a stepsister; three stepbrothers; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Roger "Whitie" and his stepdaughter, Cindy Bonnie-dot.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.
Rev. Jon Bartlett of Fifth Avenue Untied Methodist Church will officiate, and inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 until 11:15 a.m.
