Ronald Walter Dins Sr.

Ronald Walter Dins Sr., 81, of Lomira died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.

He was born June 30, 1925 in the town of Osceola, the son of Carl Otto and Clara Ida (Becker) Dins.

He was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee. Ron was baptized July 26, 1925 and confirmed May 28, 1939.

He was a 1944 graduate of Ke-waskum High School.

On Feb. 11, 1950, he married Adelia E. Luecke at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Ron hauled milk for Baker Cheese Factory and farmed most of his life.

The Dins farm has remained in the family for 100 years.

Ron served as the town of Osceola assessor for 10 years, on the Trinity Church Council for six years and on the WLA Board for six years.

Ron later worked at Precision Metals in Campbellsport for 24 years, retiring in 1991.

Ronís interests included deer and turkey hunting, snowmobiling, the EAA and planes in general. Reading was also one of his favorite pastimes.

Survivors include his children, Ronald W. (Ramona) Dins Jr. of Campbellsport, William C. Dins of Bastrop, Texas, Christine (Robert) Nellessen of Fond du Lac, Carol S. Dins of Kewaskum, Claire Miller of Jackson, Corinne (Terry) Gatzke of West Bend, Barbara (Robert) Sopinski of Kewaskum and Nancy (Timothy) Reis of West Bend; his grandchildren, Shane, Shannon and Derek Dins, Kimberly (Vince) Diorio, Kerri and Kelsey Nellessen, Thomas and David Gatzke, Ryan, Aaron and Ashley Sopinski, and Jessica, Katie and Rebecca Reis; his sisters-in-law, Beatrice Dins of Campbellsport and Tydy Becker; his brother-in-law, Edmund Becker; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father in 1946, his mother in 1980 and his brother, Carl, in 1999.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee.

Rev. Richard Schliewe will officiate, and entombment will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.

Visitation will be at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m., and on Friday from noon until the time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ronís name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
