Roger W. Dobke

Roger W. Dobke, 67, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1938 in Fond du Lac County at his Grandpa and Grandma Hirsig’s home, the son of the late Edward and Verna (Hirsig) Dobke.

On July 15, 1972, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Stangler at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown.

Roger served his country in the U. S. Army in the 1960s and before entering into the Army was a soil tester and assessor for the town of Kewaskum.

During his working years, Roger was employed by Mallard Coach, Parker Hanifin, Old Ironsides Batteries, Praefke Brake and Fabex Brake.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Suzanne; two sons, Brian (Carol) Dobke of Fond du Lac and Kevin (Susanne) Dobke of Milwaukee; two stepsisters, LaVern Geidel and Betty (Loran) Backhaus Jr., both of Kewaskum; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his stepmother, Maria Dobke and a stepbrother-in-law, John Geidel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum.

Father Edwin Kornath will officiate, and burial in the parish cemetery with military graveside rites will follow Mass.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m., where a prayer vigil will be held at 8 p.m., and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the prayer service at 10:30 a.m.
