Gladys E. Hoppens
Gladys E. Hoppens, nee Ruggles, 80, of St. Lawrence, formerly of Marinette, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at her residence.
She was born July 4, 1925 in Marinette to Clinton and Minerva (nee Lesage) Ruggles, and married Addison Hoppens on June 30, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marinette.
Gladys was a member of the Moose Lodge in Marinette.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts and camping.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years Addison; four children, Dawn (Leon) Zorko of Union Grove, Jeff (Charlene Barns) of St. Lawrence, Jim of New Jersey and Lisa (John) Williams of St. Lawrence; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dwayne Ruggles of Marinette; and a sister, Edith (Calvin) Cicutto of Kansas.
Gladys is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lynn and George; and a sister, Sandy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, at 4 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford.
Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
