Lillian W. Maynes

Lillian W. Maynes, nee Wenzel, 92, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born Aug. 24, 1913 in Hartford to August and Marie (nee Schram) Wenzel, and married Frank Maynes on Aug. 20, 1949 at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford.

Lillian moved to Chicago where she was employed as an Army Ordinance inspector during World War II.

She was a personnel assistant at Skil-Saw and Kinkead Indus-tries.

Lillian enjoyed various crafts and especially loved growing orchids.

She retired to New Port Richey Fla., and lived there for 23 years before returning to Wisconsin in 1994 to be near her family.

While in Florida Lillian volunteered faithfully at her church and was the Ladies Guild president as well as the hospitality chair.

She volunteered at the hospital as a receptionist, gift shop buyer, volunteer Chaplin and the scholarship chair.

Lillian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Shirley (John) Thomsen of Hartford, Alice (the late Milton) Hennig of Waupun, Barbara (Ron) Mihm of Germantown, Tom (Dee) Bennett of Menomonee Falls, Jackie Trainer of Ohio, LoyAnn (Roger) Roberts of Ohio and John Lavoie of Nevada.

Lillian is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Frank; three brothers, Harold (Lorraine), Leonard and Gordon (Loy) Wenzel; and two sisters, Charlotte (Julian) Bennett and Elosie Wenzel.

Memorial services for Lillian will be held Friday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Pastor Roy Petersen officiating.

Inurnment will be in Pleasant Cemetery, Hartford.

Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 until 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls are appreciated.
