Judith "Judy" A. McElwee
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon today for Judith "Judy" A. McElwee (nee Becker) of Grafton, who found peace on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the age of 62. The Rev. Steve Lampe will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington Ave., Grafton, from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton. Mueller Funeral Home is serving the family.
Judy was born on Sept. 12, 1943 in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Loraine (nee Klose) Becker. She loved to travel with her husband Jim, had a passion for cooking and attended numerous cooking classes with her daughter Laurie. She also had a "green thumb" with which she developed many beautiful summer flower gardens and dozens of indoor plants. She was a volunteer in the oncology department at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. To her, this was extremely fulfilling and the patients loved her spirit and smile. She was "grandma" to and will be missed by Girl Scout Troop 1185.
Judy is survived by her husband Jim; children Laurie (Grant) Grothman of Mequon and Timothy (Andrea) McElwee of San Diego, Calif. She was "Fudge Nana" to her grandchildren Erik and Amanda Grothman and Jordan and Ryan McElwee. She was sister to Susan (ZW) Gierasinski and Thomas (Jo) Becker; and a good friend to many.
