Joy A. "J.J." Neuy
Joy A. "J.J." Neuy, nee Schneider, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Joy was born Jan. 26, 1949 to William P. and Lillian R. (nee Roxbury) Schneider in West Bend.
She was raised in the Milwau-kee area, and in 1963 their family settled in Jackson.
When she was 14, she met Kenneth D. Neuy. Since that time, the two of them had an inseparable bond of friendship.
On Dec. 4, 1976, Kenneth and Joy devoted their love and their lives to one another at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
After marriage, the couple lived in West Bend, and moved several times, including to Adams Friendship in 1989, five years in Eagle River and settling back in West Bend in 1994.
Joy worked at several restaurants in the West Bend area, including Round the Clock for five years and Copper Penny.
In her free time, Joy enjoyed collecting dolls, sewing, playing poker and playing on the computer. "She was the world’s greatest bargain hunter on Ebay."
Her favorite thing to do was going for coffee every morning at 7:30.
Joy will be forever loved and remembered by her beloved husband and best friend, Kenneth; her son, Jamie Neuy of West Bend; her cherished grandchildren, Tiffany, Amber and Anthony Neuy; her dear mother, Lillian "Sis" Schneider of Phelps; and her siblings, Michael (Pat) Schneider of West Bend, Gerald (Theresa) Schneider of Adams Friendship, Linda Schneider of Eagle River and Mark Schneider of Phelps.
She will also be missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on Ken’s side, many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.
Joy was preceded in death by her father, William P. Schneider.
A funeral service to honor Joy will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Chaplain Cheryl L. Matusiak officiating.
Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation for memorials that are offered in lieu of flowers in honor of Joy.
They would also like to express their grateful appreciation to Vitas Hospice and Dr. Burfiend for the care and compassion that was offered to Joy and their family.
