Arthur M. "Art" Mueller

Arthur M. "Art" Mueller 95, of West Bend entered into eternal peace on Thursday, June 8, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at Samaritan Healthcare Center.

Art was born April 3, 1911 to John and Anna (nee Eichmann) Mueller in Fillmore, where he also spent his childhood.

He remained on the familyís homestead, dedicating his time and workmanship to dairy and agricultural farming. Even though Art had determined work ethics, he still enjoyed finding time to laugh in life. This joy of laughter is what drew LaVern E. Hartmann to become Artís best friend and soulmate. The couple devoted their love and lives to one another on Sept. 14, 1935 in Waubeka. After marriage, the couple remained farming on the Mueller homestead that they had come to take over and where they raised their own loving family. Art and LaVern remained on the farm until 1967 until they moved to the West Bend area. Through his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, going dancing on Friday nights and bowling. Above all, he loved to share his love and time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Art will be forever loved and remembered by his cherished children, Gloria Ney of West Bend, David (Sharon) Mueller of Surprise, Ariz., Kathleen Roesel of Campbellsport and Sharon (Joe) Cheesebro of Mayville; his nine treasured grandchildren and four adored great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, other very special relatives, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, LaVern, on February 3, 2003; his two dear sons-in-law, Norbert Ney and Wayne Roesel; two sisters and four brothers.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Art will be held on June12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend), with Rev. Geoffrey F. Hoy officiating.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend. Visitation with family and friends will be held on June 12 from 4 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
