Jane M. Bouchea

Funeral services were held on June 19 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Green Bay for Jane M. Bouchea (nee Bender) of Green Bay. Jane, a veteran of World War II and a longtime member of the Green Bay City Band, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006 in the arms of her children after a short illness, at the age of 84. The Rev. Tom Wojciechowski officiated the funeral service. Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere assisted the family with arrangements.

Jane was born on July 15, 1921, daughter of the late Harold and Lillian Bender. She was one of the first women to attend St. Norbert College, from 1946-49. Jane and her husband Lee R. Jane was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish for over 50 years as well as a member of the Musicianís Union. In 1944, Jane heeded the call that so many members of "Our Greatest Generation" heard. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in New Orleans.

Jane is survived by her children (and their spouses): Cassaundra Lee and Bill McAuliffe of Houston, Texas, Chris and Mary Bouchea of Green Bay, Pam and Joe Rothe of Saukville and Valarie Dary of Suamico; grandchildren Shanalee, Shannon and Shane McAuliffe, Brian and Jason Bouchea, Stephanie, Alicia and David Rothe, Tara and Ashley Dary; stepgranddaughters Hila Rojas and Orli Rea (Robert Rea).
