Doris M. Bertram

Doris M. Bertram, 72, of Sheboygan Falls died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2006.

Doris was born on Nov. 17, 1933 in the town of Lima, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Martha (Vander Ploeg) Raymond, and attended She-boygan Falls High School.

On Sept. 1, 1951 Doris married Vernon C. Bertram in Sheboygan Falls.

Vernon preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1988.

Doris worked at Richardís Fine Dining and Depke Shoes for over 20 years.

She was a longtime member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where she was an active bingo and funeral lunch volunteer.

She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and former Campfire leader.

Doris enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, reading, going to the Fireside Dinner Theater and traveling with her friends.

Most of all though, Doris cherished the time she could spend with her family, in particular her grandchildren.

Doris was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed life and treasured her relationships.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah (John) Sprosty, Pamela (Skip) Theobald and Cynthia (Jim) Mulder, all of Sheboygan Falls; five sons, Randall (Bonnie) of West Bend, Daniel of Sheboygan Falls, Joel (Kelly) of Howards Grove, Brad (Elizabeth) of Kiel and Cory (Michele) of Glenbeulah; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanora (Sylvester) Regan of Sheboygan Falls; a brother, David (Judy) Raymond of Kaukauna; a brother-in-law, Clarence (Rose Marie) Hilbelink of Elkhart Lake; and a sister-in-law, Marita (Lloyd) Larson of Sheboygan Falls.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, and a sister, Marcia Hilbelink.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Eugene Neuman officiating.

Prayers preceded the service at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 10 a.m.

Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls is serving the Bertram family.
