Jeanette J. Miller, 85

Jeanette June Miller, nee Hammen, 85, of Gables on the Pond, Random Lake, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 28, 2006 at Gables on the Pond.

She was born June 19, 1921 in the town of Scott, a daughter of the late Walter and Norma (Kaiser) Hammen.

Jeanette was raised on a farm in North Beechwood and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1940.

On Aug. 30, 1941, Jeanette married Deward R. Miller at St. John United Church of Christ in Beechwood.

The couple resided in the town of Farmington for over 51 years before moving to West Bend in September 1998.

Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1999.

In March 2004, Jeanette moved to Gables on the Pond.

During her life, Jeanette was an Avon representative and later a library aide at the Farmington School near Boltonville for many years.

After retirement, she enjoyed doing genealogical research and wrote 12 family history books.

In her research, she communicated with people all over the United States and Germany.

She also wrote of her early life growing up on her parents’ farm in the 1920s and 1930s.

In addition, she was a member of a "spinning group" which was involved in the processing and dying of wool.

Jeanette was a member of the Risen Hope Community Church in Random Lake.

Survivors include a daughter, Duanne (Ronny) Risse of Hing-ham; two sons, Gerald (Nancy) Miller of Baltimore. and John (Therese) Miller of Fredonia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Elroy (Marilyn) Miller of Sheboygan.

Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Glenn and Elwood.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 2, at 5 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Rev. Steve Wood, pastor of Risen Hope Community Church in Random Lake, will officiate, and burial will be in the Boltonville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

A memorial fund is being established in Jeanette’s name.
