Virginia "Ginny" Renz

Virginia "Ginny" Renz, 87, of West Bend, died on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Massachusetts to the late Kenneth and Phyllis (nee Smith) Ward, and grew up in the Boston area.

After graduating from high school, Ginny attended nursing school, and later worked as a registered nurse.

On Nov. 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Emil K. Renz in Quincy, Mass.

He passed away Nov. 20, 1997.

In 1960, the family moved to West Bend.

For a period of time, Ginny worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She later be-came employed as Dr. Richard Gibson’s nurse, working in his office for 15 years.

Then, she worked at the Health Care Center of Cedar Community, and was also the nurse for Cedar Village.

Prior to and following her retirement in 1987, Ginny volunteered for Cedar Community. She sewed quilts for the residents and also served meals.

In addition to her volunteer work, she enjoyed traveling with Carol’s Tours, visiting many places throughout the world.

Survivors include two children, Susan (James) Heisdorf of Kewaskum and Shirley Renz of West Bend; six grandchildren, Michael (Donna) Heisdorf, Ken (Rhonda) Heisdorf, Dan (Nikki) Heisdorf, Russell (Mary) Schlos-ser, Ryan Schlosser and Nancy Schlosser (fiancˇ Nathan Lo-zano); 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Hall of Massa-chusetts; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a great-granddaughter Carmen Heisdorf.

The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation on Monday, March 6 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

Graveside committal services will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

The family has requested memorials to the Cedar Com-munity Foundation.
