Milda Narbatovics, 86, a former resident of West Bend for 51 years, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at ManorCare, Fond du Lac.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1920, in Riga, Latvia, a daughter of the late Edwards and Anna (nee Paulis) Jakobi.
In 1950, Milda emigrated to the United States with her mother, brother and daughter, settling in West Bend, where she met her future husband, Alexander Narbatovics.
The couple was married on April 21, 1957.
Milda worked for many years as a cook in a local restaurant and also as a housekeeper.
She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and taking care of her animals.
Milda also loved to cook; baking rye bread for church members being one of her specialties.
She was a member of Martin Luther Ev. Latvian Church, Fond du Lac.
Survivors include her husband, Alexander; three children, Biruta Christian (fiancˇ Greg Lavey) of Fond du Lac, Karl Narbatovics (special friend Dana Hroch) of Fond du Lac and John (Colleen) Narbatovics of Adell; six grandchildren and one great grandson, Deidrea (Warren) Stanke, great-grandson Tynnan Liermann, Kelly Narbatovics (special friend Dana Lueloff), Ryan Narbatovics, Randy (Kim) Narbatovics, Melisa Narbatovics and Lucas Narbatovics (fianceˇ Misty Kelly); three sisters, Vera Egle of Saukville, Olga Edwards of England and Irene Kolovs of Australia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, at Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, with the Rev. Dr. Lauma Zusevics officiating.
Visitation at the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
