Mary (nee Nepp) (Henning) (Ruhe) Carriveau
A memorial service was held on March 11 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, Mich. for Mary (nee Nepp) (Henning) (Ruhe) Carriveau of Grayling, who found eternal peace on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 while at the Grayling Nursing Centre, at the age of 87. Mary’s son, Robert Henning, officiated the memorial service. Visitation was also held on March 11, prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg at a later date.
Mary was born to Frank and Anna Nepp on June 24, 1918 in Milwaukee. She was married to Walter Henning, Norman Ruhe Sr. and Marshall Carriveau. She retired from Grafton Woolen Mills and moved to Grayling, Mich., in 1980.
Mary was a member and past president of the Grayling Eagles Club and also enjoyed spending many hours working at the St. Francis Thrift Shop in Grayling.
Mary is survived by her sons Edward (Bernice) Henning, Robert (Yvonne) Henning, Dennis (Tracy) Henning, Jerald (Sharon) Henning, Ervin Ruhe Sr. and Norman (Amy) Ruhe Jr.; and daughters Edith Berndt, Carol (Lawrence) Wollner and Sharon (Rick) Varisco. She is further survived by 55 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by husbands Walter Henning Sr., Norman Ruhe Sr. and Marshall Carriveau; sons Walter Henning Jr. and Ronald Nepp; and daughter Marylin (Henning) Kayl.
