Bessie R. Klier

Bessie R. Klier, 86, of Ridgeland, died Monday, March 13, 2006 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Prairie Farm. She was born April 8, 1919 to George and Eleanor (Walker) Dopkins in Beldenville. She was raised in the Beldenville/River Falls area and later graduated from Cumberland High School. On April 11, 1942, she was married to John Klier at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. She loved to visit with family and friends and will be remembered for her cheery disposition. Bessieís philosophy was "never carry a grudge and accept people as they are, not how you would like them to be."

She is survived by her son, Gerald Klier (fiancee, Elsie Olson and family) of Wheeler; stepsisters, Betty (Helmer) Myhre of Clifton, Texas and Jean (Robert) Rieck of Tacoma, Wash. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Melvin Beardsley; husband, John on May 19, 1996; an infant daughter, Katherine; brother, Herbert Dopkins; sisters, Pearl Hilden, Mildred Robey and Myrtle Rey; stepbrother, Truman Beardsley; and half-brother, Charles McKue.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 18, 2006 at St. Paulís Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Prairie Farm, with Rev. LaVern Holz officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.
