Marian Adeline Mechenich

Marian Adeline Mechenich (nee Gundrum) of Slinger was graciously welcomed home by her Lord to reunite with all those who went to Heaven before her on Monday, March 27, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford, at the age of 84 years.

Marian was born Nov. 4, 1921 to Joseph A. and Katherina M. (nee Weber) Gundrum on the family homestead in the town of Addison. On Aug. 13, 1944, she devoted her life and her everlasting love to Gene Mechenich in Santa Ana, Calif. After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own. Marian offered her family the grandest of love, nurturing, and compassion as a homemaker. Later in life, she again found herself making the hearts around her dance with the music she played with Friends at Heart and the Kitcheniereís Band. Marian was an active member of St. Peterís Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, and the Christian Mothers.

She has forever touched the lives and hearts of her adored sons, Jim Mechenich, Joe (Doreen) Mechenich, and Dave (Chris) Mechenich; her dear daughter-in-law, JoLynn Mechenich; her cherished sisters, Virginia Goeden, Mildred Wolf, and Betty (Tom) Beistle; and her treasured grandchildren, Denise (Scott) MacFarlan, Buddy (Kim) Mechenich, Brian (Friend Chris Rowan) Mechenich, Joe (Jenny) Mechenich, Nicole (Pat) Kiel, Kim (Doug) Kohlbeck, Stephen (Mollie) Mechenich, Mike Mechenich, and Dan Mechenich. Marian will also be deeply missed and forever loved by her 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and many dear friends. She was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Gene, who preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1978; her son, Donald, who passed away on Dec. 22, 1992; parents; twin brother, Sylvester Gundrum; sister, Leona Gundrum; her brothers-in-law, Cy Wolf and Dan Goeden; and on Geneís side, her brothers-in-law, Earl (Anita) and Harold Mechenich; and sister-in-law, Myrtle Krueger.
