Alma A. (nee Krueger) Ostermann

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Alma A. (nee Krueger) Ostermann (formerly of Cedarburg). Alma died of cancer on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Harbor Cove, an assisted living facility in Port Washington. She was 89. The Rev. Wilmer Reichmann will officiate the funeral service. Visitation will be held at the church today from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.

Alma was born in Almena on Nov. 26, 1916, the daughter of Rudolph and Mathilda (nee Koser) Krueger. She grew up in the Almena area. On May 30, 1936, she married Emil Ostermann at Zion Lutheran Church in Comstock. After living in Milwaukee until the 1940s, Alma and Emil moved to Rice Lake. In 1961, they moved to Cedarburg and in 2002, Alma moved to Port Washington.

Alma was known for her quiet, caring personality. She was a talented seamstress and loved making clothes for family members and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a longtime member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Alma is survived by her children Annette (Curt) Kittleson of Manitowoc, Norman (Janice) of Las Vegas, Nev., Eugene (Kay) of Aledo, Texas, Carolynn (Michael) Kobiske of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Steven (Holly) of Port Washington; brother John Krueger of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters Ethel Wells of Cedarburg and Renata (Richard) Johnson of Colorado; and daughter-in-law Sharon Ostermann of Grafton. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emil; son Gerald; sisters Ida Steadman and Lillian "Violet" Krueger; and grandson Andrew Kobiske.
