Edwin D. Myre

Edwin D. Myre, 77, of West Bend entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at his home.

Edwin was born Dec. 23, 1928 to Claude H. and Rosa A. (nee Martin) Myre in Chippewa Falls, where he also spent his childhood.

Edwin attended and graduated from Notre Dame High School, and soon after honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. When he returned home from the service, he became employed at Woolworths and Hopfensperger Meats.

On Aug. 13, 1955, Edwin devoted his love and his life to Dorothy Kathryn Krabbe at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple began a loving family of their own.

Edwin later became a dedicated employee at Frito Lay, where he remained for 27 years, and Pick’n Save, where he was employed for 10 years. Because he especially enjoyed talking with and meeting new people, he enjoyed the times he worked at Frito Lay.

Edwin was a member of the Knights of Columbus in West Bend.

He has forever touched the lives and hearts of all of those close to him, including his cherished children, James (Pat) Myre of Naperville, Ill., Kathryn (Robert) Titus of Wadsworth, Ohio, Richard (Roberta) Myre of West Bend, and Maggie (Mark) Meylor of Watertown; his treasured grandchildren, Sara (Kyle) Kritz, Jason, Kimberly, Emily and Rebecca; his dear step-grandchildren, Alan, Jeffrey, Robert, and Matthew; his loving sister, Marguerite Stensrud of Mesa, Ariz.; and his sister-in-law, Lucille Hopfensperger. He will also be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Dorothy; two brothers, Carl and Francis; and two sisters, Rose Marie and Dolores.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Father Jeffrey Haines officiating. Entombment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, at church only, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass noon.

The family would like to request that memorials are donated to the Building Fund at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
