Ruth Alice Klink
Ruth Alice Klink (nee Schaefer), 67, of Rubicon died unexpectedly Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, following a massive stroke.
She was born April 22, 1939 in Hartford to Adam and Alice (nee Gitzinger) Schaefer. She was united in marriage to David Klink on Oct. 10, 1959 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
She attended St. Kilian Grade School and graduated in 1957 from Hartford Union High School. Ruth worked at the First National Bank in Hartford, Saylesville School, William Auman Agency and RS Semler Insurance Agency until her retirement in 2001. During this time, she also farmed with David on the family farm in Rubicon.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; three sons, Thomas (Diane) of Grafton, Richard (Eileen) of Hartford and Robert (Marie) of Arlington; five grandchildren, Ali, Sam, Tyler, Trey and Abigail; two brothers, Ralph (Armella) of Hartford and Jerome Schaefer of Hartford. Ruth is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held Monday, May 8, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Rubicon, with Fr. Al Van Beek officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, May 7, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Interment at St. John Cemetery, Rubicon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford are appreciated.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Allen and the ICU staff at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford for the wonderful care and compassion they provided as well as Fr. Al and Fr.
