Charlotte A. Chapman

Funeral services were held on May 8 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Charlotte A. Chapman (nee Maxon) of Fox Point, who passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the age of 89. Visitation was held prior to the funeral service.

Charlotte was born on March 22, 1917 in Harvard, Ill., to the late Frank and Evelyn (nee Gregory) Maxon. She lived with her family on a small farm outside of Harvard. In 1942, she married Floyd Chapman. Charlotte lived in Fox Point for 60 years, in the house Floyd built after returning from service. She enjoyed playing the piano for school musicals at Maple Dale and Nicolet High School while the kids were growing up. She went on to become a secretary for a Milwaukee law firm where she worked for 20 years.

Charlotte enjoyed her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden as well as working in her yard, which she did up until this season. She enjoyed time with family and friends at their cottage in the Northwoods, as well as friends and neighbors here. Charlotte was soft-spoken, quiet and a gentle caring person, but had a strong will and toughness that kept her going strong all these years.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Floyd of Fox Point; children Jackie Chapman of Grafton and Greg (Cindy) Chapman of Milwaukee; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) Rossman of Jackson, Joseph (Leslie) Chapman of Grafton, Carrie (David) Guif of Madison and Lisa (Ross) Engel of Lannon; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Ashley Rossman and Cole Chapman. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
