George L. Deuber

George L. Deuber, 70, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.

George retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked 20 years for Pepsi Cola Co. in Louisville, Ky. and Austin, Ind.

George was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany.

The son of the late Fritz and Minna (Kortemeier) Deuber, George was born Jan. 18, 1936 in Witten, Germany.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Arlene (Schmidt) Deuber; children, Michael L. Deuber (Janet) of Palmyra, Ind., Joan Stapp (David) and Julie Hanen (Keith), both of New Albany; grandchildren, Laura Lynne Deuber, Nicholas and Lauren Stapp, and Audrey and Mae Hanen; sisters, Ingrid Mueller of Kewaskum and Trautie Stock-hausen of West Bend; sisters-in-law, Florence Schmidt of Fond du Lac, Betty Schmidt of Theresa and Dorothy Heinecke of West Bend; brothers-in-law, Harvey Schmidt (Rhea), Clarence Schmidt and Herbert Schmidt (Dorothy), all of West Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.

There will also be a rosary service at 7:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany with burial and military honors to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
